Hello, peeps!
I once said something in facebook about how stick skinny girls back in sec school should thorougly enjoy their skinny lives while they can, as once they hit college chances of them ballooning is high.
In all honesty, I wasn't planning on giving a word of advice to sec school girls. It was merely wishful thinking on my part. Le Sigh. How I wish I could return back to the years when cellulite was as exotic and rare as spotting the dress you've coveted for months on the 70% discount rack. And in your size, too.
So it is true. I have, finally, at age 18, succumb to the start of my ever declining metabolic rate. That's what I sincerely believe. Contrary to this, my bf insists that girls get fat in college because they become all lazy and keep taking the lift. I beg to differ.
What I present to you is a list of things I did differently back in high school, (which might have contributed to the maintenance of my skinniness), and the things I do in college NOW, which I believe, can v well counter its absence. Hhaha. This post very 'mou liew' I know..
HS: Climb 4 floors of stairs everytime am at ground floor and wish to go to class.
COL: Climb (max) 4 floors of stairs everytime am at ground floor and wish to go to class and lifts are all FULL and am v bloody late for class.
Although so far it may look like I indeed have become 'all lazy and keep taking the lift', I do not think that is a v fair statement. Firstly, I cannot have become 'more lazy' seeing as if there were lifts provided in sec school, I wouldn't have taken the stairs then, either.
Also, I refuse to climb to floors higher than the third, because Dude, there are Lifts provided for a Reason. I have an intuitive feeling that when the building was constructed, nobody intended the stairs to be for climbing purposes. The stairs were for evacuation purposes in event the building caught fire!! Its just that the more students Taylors stuffs into the building, the longer the individual waiting time for the lift as a mode of vertical transport.
Thirdly, my bf is so smart, accusing me of becoming 'all lazy and keep taking the lift', when in fact, he does the same himself! In the past two weeks Ive seen him three times in the lift when it was too full for me to enter!! If boys are so 'not lazy'.. then they should not take the lift and use the stairs and vacate the place for the girls!! Ha.
But that's not the point. The point is, it cannot be the lift factor, because boys also take the lift but they don't seem to be getting fatter. They also seem to be eating like pigs but with no rightward-pull effect on the needle of the weighing scale. Also, girls at main campus have no lifts but they are also getting fatter (if i'm not mistaken) haha. Another reason why it cannot be the lift factor is because:
COL: The typical day has me walking from the parking lot to TBS and then to lunch at some shop and then all the way to main campus up the stairs then back to TBS and finally back to the parking lot. Distance makes up for less stairs climbed.
COL: Coll burns x2 of the normal calories, as walking/climbing in heels takes at least 2x the effort of shoveling along in black Bata shoes.
HS: I used to play volleyball approx 3 times a month, and had PJK for an hour and 20 minutes each week, before the days when we could say we're studying for SPM and stay in class swt. I also ate like 4 meals a day or something.
COL: Do not play sports.. but walk in malls way more often. Think I track like 10 km each shopping excursion :P. Do not eat 4 meals a day. Only 3 or 2 (no breakfast if I don't have to wake up at 6 am) and in smaller portions.
Ha. See. This all proves that there is nothing really different about my life now from back when I was in sec school.
So how come I am getting fat now?! And that, peeps, is the 'fat mystery' I am going to leave as it is. I think its the metabolic rate which I can do nothing about T_T. And with that said, this post has made me feel much better, knowing that it is not I, who am consciously allowing myself to get fat.
LMAO.
Have a great day.
